Many Wemlin users asked, why we have stations like 'Uster, Bahnhof' and 'Uster, Uster'?
Well, these stations are different. 'Uster, Bahnhof' is one of the stations in Uster, which are serviced by bus. The S-Bahn station is called 'Uster'.
But there is also a technical reason, we have two different timetables merged into one database. Wemlin contains the ZVV time table (which contains 'Uster, Bahnhof') and a subset of the SBB time table (which contains 'Uster, Uster' for the S-Bahn). When you visit the time table websites of ZVV and SBB you will also see the differences between these stations. In Wemlin, you see both at once, which makes the difference more prominent.
The solution we choose are the so called 'Nearby Stations', which are stations in walking distance (250m) to each other. With this feature it is quite easy to switch from bus to S-Bahn or vice versa. And the nice logos give you the necessary hint, which lines go by, bus, tram, S-Bahn, train, or ship.
And nobody says, that the current solution will be the final one. Let us know about your ideas.
Stay tuned for the next releases of Wemlin!
